Chess piece artwork
The piece drawings are the Cburnett set, the standard Wikipedia and Lichess pieces. They are used in the app and in the logo and illustrations on this site.
- Creator: Colin M.L. Burnett (Cburnett)
- Source: Lichess cburnett and Wikimedia SVG chess pieces
- License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0. The same drawings are also offered under BSD-3-Clause on Wikimedia.
Share-alike applies to those drawings and to adaptations of them. It does not relicense the rest of Caissan Chess. Copies of the files ship with the app and in website/assets/pieces/, with the attribution note kept beside them.
Software in the app
The Android app is built with third-party software. Those components stay under their own licenses. They include, among others:
- Expo and the Expo modules used by the app
- React Native
- React Navigation
Their license texts travel with those packages. They are not a license for the Caissan game itself.
